I’m can’t eat more than 1300 calories/day. I get full fast, but I’m losing wt. Any food suggestion?

Question by Janie: I’m can’t eat more than 1300 calories/day. I get full fast, but I’m losing wt. Any food suggestion?
I don’t really have an appetite. My doctor just wants me to keep a calorie journal which isn’t really a therapeutic solution.

I get full fast, so I’d love to be able to eat something simple, lightweight thats 600 calories 3-4 times a day. The closest thing I’ve found is nutella, are there any other options?

Answer by Star Crossed
Peanut butter is always awesome. A Peanut Butter sandwich plus a glass of milk should be around 600 calories.
And any types of nuts. Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios… They’re all like 170-190 calories per 1/4 cup.
You can also snack a little bit throughout the day if you don’t like big meals. Dried fruit and yogurt is pretty good for calories. I guess you could even try a nutritional drink like Boost or Ensure.

By the way, have you asked your doctor about your loss of appetite? You might want to look into why you aren’t feeling hungry. I’m not an expert on it, but it’s better to be safe than sorry…

Lose The Love Handles Workout – Oblique Shredder Workout

athleanx.com Ever wonder why they’re called “love” handles when most every guy actually hates them? Well…if you’re one of the many that have no love for these flabby folds, take a few minutes to watch this circuit workout that you can start doing today to build ripped obliques and a muscular six pack stomach with minimal time investment. Look at some of the best bodies in pro sports and the one thing you’ll find in common with all these athletes is a ripped and muscular midsection. Even if you have a muscular chest, big triceps, big biceps, jacked shoulders, and massive legs…if you still have a chubby waist everything else seems to come off as less impressive. Get a set of cut obliques and you will start turning heads like my celebrity fitness clients do when they take their shirts off on the set. Jeff Cavaliere is the creator and founder of the AthLEAN-X Training System. This 90 day workout system is designed to give you a bigger chest, bigger arms, ripped abs, and an athletic body with just 3 to 5 workouts a week that last just 20-30 minutes each. Is this a good diet for today? I’m trying to lose 5kg.?

I weigh 54.9 kg (8st 6) at the moment and am 5″5, 14 years old.
I used to weigh 108 lbs and am trying to get back down to that.
I am currently doing:

Between half an hour-1 hr walking up to town to see my friends
2 Hours Bike Riding once a week, sometimes twice.
I am also hoping to join a gym soon..

I think i have ruined my metabolism because for about 2 years i ate about 1,000 cals a day, then i started binging quite alot which took my intake up to about 1,300-400. I think this is why my weight went up, but then i tried to get it back down by cutting my cals to 1,000.

Now i’m stuck on this 1,000 calorie thing and its not working at all!! I binge still but it never goes over 1,000 calories.

Also i do this workout everyday, sometimes twice:

100 Squats
50 Stomach Crunches
50 Lower ab crunch thingys
50 Press-ups
Hold Plank position for 60 secs
10 Lunges

I’m starting to feel my triceps really well and my abs are coming through at the top, but not on the bottom, though its probably because ive worked my upper ones more and theres more fat on my lower body. My legs are quite big, but their getting alot more muscly which im happy about but i want them to be slimmer!!

I really don’t get it, it must be fat that ive gained because i only started doing this workout when i went up to about 8 stone 4. (about 3 or 4 months ago)
People say to me that im really thin but i told them i weigh nearly 8 stone because everyone weighs between 7 and a half- 8 stone, i weigh the same as my boyfriend!!!! Though he is really thin but still…

Its weird because you can feel my ribs and my wrists are really thin and my shoulder blades but then my bottom half like my stomach and thighs are a bit fat. Meh. Anyway this is my meal plan for today:

9:00 : Apple slices with Activia Yoghurt 200 cal

11:00 : 2 Egg whites + 2 Celery Sticks + 100g Lettuce 50 cal

1:00 : Tin of tuna & Slice of cheese 240 cal

3.00: 100g Carrot 40 cal

6.00: Dinner? (won’t be over 500 cals)

9.30: 100g Tomato, 100g Cucumber, 200ml Glass of milk. 150 cal

Please help guys! Thanks!! :)

Why didn’t i achieve my workout goal i worked hard ?

My goal this summer was to bulk up and gets real cut. I’m 14 years old and 5`4 and i was sick of people underestimating me because I wasn’t tall. So during the summer this is was what I did as far as fitness.

•Did Curls with 30 pounds in each hands (10 times ) (3 sets)
• Did 30 push ups on a chair with the perfect push up machine ( 10 times)(3 sets)
•Ran a Mile every other night
•Benched pressed 50 pounds 10 times (3 sets)
Did 25 sit ups every week?
* Played at least 5 hours of basketball per two weeks

As far as nutrition this is what I did

I drunk a glass of green powder with water
Had 3 cups of green tea a day (Iced sweetened with pure honey)
Had 3 cups of white tea a day (Iced sweetened with pure honey)
Had 5 cups of water every day
Had a glass of yerba fiber husk with water everyday
Now I ate regularly fried chicken on most days big Mac on other days I also had fried fish . I mostly ate chicken with fries , Hamburger with fries and catfish with fries. I also had some Chinese food like shrimp fried rice and sweat and sour chicken. Now my dad had recently got a job in new Orleans and we were living in a trailer and he had to work so each day he would give us money to get something to eat. Oh yea for breakfast I had cereal just about every day. So what did I do wrong I ate plenty of meat which is supposal good in protein I ate fries which should be healthy for you since they come from potatoes which are good for you. Then toward the end of the summer the doctor said I gained ten pounds however if you looked at me you couldent tell that . Well just tell me what Ive done wrong. Im back home with my mom and she doesn’t let us go outside because she thinks the nierborhood is bad. But I still have some workout equipment

Perfect Push Up
I also have weights not the kind were you lift them up with both hands its the kind you can only lift with one hand the most pounds that can go on it is 40.

but since September four I felt real sick and my dad said it was probably because of all the fast food ive been eating. So now im a vegetarian I eat pizza, rice with different type of beans, baked potato, spinach broccoli watermelon, bananas strawberries. I don’t exercise a lot because I just started school and their overwhelming me with homework. But I get up at 6:00 just about every day and do an ab workout. That’s about all though so where did I go wrong on my workout and how can I achieve my goal ?

why do people with depression go to the doctor and take anti-depressants?

ANY DRUG HAS SIDE EFFECTS!

think of this: depression is not a “disease”- it is a “symptom” caused by “something that makes you sad” that is going on.

So instead of taking something to mask those symptoms, ELIMINATE THE CAUSE!

Think of this: if someone said, “everytime i hit my foot with a hammer it hurts, what do i do?” a sane person would say, “stop hitting your foot with a hammer! duh! are you an idiot!?!?”

but a DOCTOR today is SO INTO MAKING MORE MONEY that he would prescribe you something to KILL THE PAIN instead of ROOTING OUT AND ELIMINATING THE CAUSE!
=========================================

so why mask the symptoms, when you can eliminate what causes them? doctors want you to think depression is an incurable disease, so they can make money!
=======================================

here are some things you can do to combat depression naturally:

5.2)take vitamins, protein shakes, eat extra food, EAT HEALTHIER FOOD, etc.

5.3) Never, ever take anything with caffeine, taurine, or any other stimulants in it. Never take anything that says “energy” in it- EVEN IF IT SAYS ALL NATURAL. Because anything that is only designed to give you short-term energy is a drug (except for sugar, which is unhealthy except in fruits.)

5.4) EXERCISE! Running, swimming, playing basketball or soccer or football, or lifting weights, or doing boxing/wrestling, or doing circuit training, plyometrics, or ab work, all will increase strength, endurance, and help keep you awake.
JUST NEVER LIFT RIGHT BEFORE BED- THIS WILL KEEP YOU UP. END WORKING OUT AT LEAST 2.5 HOURS BEFORE BED!

5.5) Get at least 9 hours of sleep at night. Still do as much work as you did in middle school- BUT force yourself to work harder, faster, etc. so you can get that extra sleep.
(you may feel unable to work that fast, but once you get used to it and are getting more sleep as well, you will be better off in the long run.)

5.6) When you wake up in the morning, DO NOT USE AN ANNOYING ALARM CLOCK! Use something that wakes you up gently and peacefully! (like ocean waves, music that you love, bird chirping, etc. somethin easy like that.)
That way you will not be annoyed, jarred, want to sleep, and have headaches.

5.7) Once you have woken up PEACEFULLY to A GENTLE SOUND, then immediately shake urself loose (like warming up b4 a game or match) and jump around, jog around the house, do some pushups and lunges. This will ENSURE you are awake.

5.8) After this, immediately go to the sink and splash FREEZING water on your head.

5.9) After this, eat a BIG, HEALHTY breakfast!!!

a suggested breakfast would be as follows:

3 eggs
a bowl of healthy cereal with whole milk (like total cranberry crunch)
a protein shake (chocolate muscle milk is the best and tastiest)
a FULL GLASS OF WATER with a multi-vitamin; THEN DRINK ANOTHER HALF GLASS OF WATER!

5.91) you MUST be hydrated in the morning- you know when you pee in the morning, and its a lot, and then you feel skinny and tired? THIS IS BECAUSE YOU ARE DEHYDRATED!!! The FASTER you get hydrated to the point where your pee is clear white, the better and more awake you will be.

======================================…

oh yeah about the depression- no, you’re not depressed. It’s called “withdrawal symptoms”.

and anti-depressants actually cause a LOT of side effects… one of the side effects is depression! That’s right- anti-depressants make you depressed. They also make you quiet, stupider, a hollow, lifeless ghost, and uncool. (personal experience with people who have gone on them)

soo…
To combat this FEELING of depression naturally:

1) exercise alot (as mentioned)
2) during your day, try to stay away from computers, TV’s, stereo’s, and electronic equipment as much as possible
3) hang with your friends a lot
4) Get a lot of sunlight- play basketball or soccer with some friends at an outdoor court in the afternoon (best feelign EVER!)
4) go to the mall with some ppl- even if it’s just to look around, cuz it’s fun.
5) Do what you like to do.
6) Go and talk with some people about feeling depressed; try to work out with them (and with yourself) what the PROBLEM is.
7) MOST IMPORTANTLY: DEPRESSION IS NOT A “DISEASE”- IT IS A SYMPTOM OF A CAUSE!
Ask yourself: what is CAUSING my depression? Find out, by being honest to yourself.

Then, when you know: ELIMINATE THE CAUSE!
=================================================
so, to those who are “depressed”… after reading this, why would you go take a chemical to attempt to make you feel better?
to the last person:

true, true, and my b.

but…

opportunity comes to those who look for it

How to get rid of the stomach flab in a few weeks and gain muscle more effectively?

Alright. First of all I am a guy and a freshman at a University. I’m 5’6.5″ and weigh 133 lb. People say that’s pretty light for a guy’s weight. I look like a twig and super skinny according to what people say about me. As a kid I used to be obese and then when I joined cross country in high school, I lost my obesity and look like a twig (well sort of). Since i don’t do cross country anymore since I am in college, I run 2 miles a day (3/4 mile warm up at 7.5-8 min/mile pace; 1/2 mile intense run [5:30-6:40 min/mile pace], and a 3/4 mile cool down (8-9 minute mile pace) ).

There is one problem however. Just because I joined cross country/track did not mean I lost all of my fat. There is this really really stubborn flab on my stomach and I seriously want to get rid of it. Ever since I entered college, I have been doing my routine 2 mile run and weight lifting after the intense .5 mie run. After 10 weeks of doing upper body, lower body, chest, ab, back, and cardio workouts; I still cannot get rid of the flab. I do my lifting at 100% effort and I try to stay in good form while performing sets. Sadly, I have not been gaining muscle (I guess it’s the excessive cardio) except for some deltoid muscle…but i still have skinny arms.

My goal: Get big arms, a lean body with a nice six pack, nice pectorals, lean body mass.

My body fat %age: I think it’s 12-13% and I plan on going down to 7%. I have been doing whatever I can and I can’t seem to lose this belly flab.

my workout routine: 6 days a week

full body workouts + 2 mile run for 6 days a week. (recently i tried doing 3 days a week of weight lifting but i feel so weak afterwards when i start lifting again…)

Thing that I am aware of:

1. there is no such thing as spot reduction
2. doing cardio can make me lose muscle over time
3. eating healthy and drinking a lot of water is the key.
4. eat 6 small meals/day and not 3 big square meals

I am a really fit person and I can even run a half marathon no problem but it’s just this really stubborn flab. Can someone please help me and explain what I am doing wrong? I want to get rid of this stomach flab as soon as possible and there could be something that I am doing wrong. It’s been 10 weeks of working out with weights and I have barely seem results. It could be my diet, etc. I need someone professional that can answer this or someone who encountered the same experience as I did and conquered this phase. (this could be a tough question to some. Just so you can know, I have been reading a lot of articles and tried to follow them but I fail at all of them). I’m going to need an actual answer to reduce this belly flab…also i would like suggestions for gaining muscle too?

The best answer gets full points!
If it seems like I am doing the right things, then why am I not getting any results? That’s something to look out for when answering this question.
duration of working out: 1 hour – 1 and 20 minutes a day

Nutrisystem Coupon

One option is simply to go by yet another book.

But candidly how many of us have the time to follow through the right way. The biggest issue seems to be controlling calories.

Try this Nutrisystem program for a trial to get cracking.

This is what will help you stay on track. The only way you’re going to make this work is if you actually get the meals delivered to you. Probably one of the biggest items to worry about is your calorie intake. That is why you need is meals to come to you. No matter if you’re male or female Nutrisystem has a program just for you. If you are diabetic they have a plan for you. Of all of their customers, 90% of them say this is the easiest program. Most importantly they say it is the most successful program. And you should always look for companies customers to know how well the cost to me is doing. Do not think these are crummy meals, they are not. They provide you with dessert. Not just breakfast lunch and dinner. You still be surprised there is desert involved. They have over 160 restaurant style food items. All of these are delivered right to your home. Just recently they added 50 new dishes. Chicken wraps. And chocolate desserts. Believe it or not they work hard to make sure that you will be productive. So if you really want something that works try them. By replacing your meals with theirs means that the cost of your previous meals is going to pay for the program.

You have a membership to that. They have other features and benefits such as depressing your cholesterol. They also have their tutors available for you to call and discuss. Do not forget the home food delivery.

While I am an IT manager I still love to hunt and fish. Odd I know.

10 Biggest Weight Loss Myths

The 10 Biggest Weight Loss Myths

The reason many people have so much trouble losing weight is because they have misinformation about what it takes to lose weight. Simply put, if you’ve failed to lose weight and keep it off to this point it might be because you’ve been misled or have been ill-informed. What follows are the 10 biggest myths that I’ve discovered when it comes to losing weight.

Myth #1: All Calories Are Created Equal

This is simply not true when it comes to losing weight. What’s equally important to the caloric intake is the effect that the food has on your metabolism, and more specifically, your blood sugar level. Your grandmother was right when she told you not to eat sweets. Sugars cause your blood sugar level to go up, which in turn causes you to store fat. What you need to look at along with your caloric intake is the glycemic index of the food you’re eating.

Myth #2: Eating Puffed Rice Cakes Is Good For Your Diet

This is closely tied to Myth #1. I had a friend who ate puffed rice cakes for lunch when she was on a diet. The problem is that these things that look like hamburgers but are made basically from Rice Crispies cause your blood sugar to go up faster than eating pure sugar. This causes your body to release insulin to lower your blood sugar, and triggers your body into far storage mode instead of fat burning mode.

Myth #3: No Pain, No Gain

This myth involves people’s workout habits. The old axiom is “No Pain, No Gain.” While this might be true for professional body builders looking to bulk up, it doesn’t apply to you if you’re trying to burn calories on a treadmill or elliptical machine. What happens when you over-exert yourself is you begin to go into anaerobic, sugar-burning metabolism. This isn’t helping. This is lowering your blood-sugar level, causing you to crave carbohydrates. It’s also not helping to burn fat. Your goal with aerobic exercise is to trigger your body into fat burning mode.

Myth #4: Losing Weight Is Difficult

This might be the biggest myth of all! Losing weight is very easy -but only after you change your mindset. Losing 70 pounds was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. The hard part was eating like a pig for years until I was 70 pounds overweight. If you’re overweight it’s only because you’ve conditioned yourself to repeat unhealthy habits. Breaking these habits is easy -once you know how.

Myth #5: There Are Secret Fad Diets That You Need to Lose Weight

While it’s true that certain fad diets can help you lose weight temporarily, they will rarely, if ever help you stay physically healthy and fit in the long term. Of course if all you ever want to eat is cabbage soup maybe fad diets are right for you! Seriously, fad diets appeal to people wanting a quick and easy fix. It would be great if there were a quick and easy fix. In fact, there IS a quick and easy fix, but sorry to say it’s not a fad diet.

Myth #6: Certain Foods Like Celery or Cabbage Can Actually Burn Fat and Cause You To Lose Weight

Wrong. No foods can burn more calories than they contain. Some foods might help increase your metabolism, but the effect is very minor. I’ve never met anybody who is physically fit and healthy and who claims it’s because they eat foods that cause them to lose weight. Sorry, this isn’t the answer.

Myth #7: You Can Eat Whatever You Want and Still Lose Weight

Um…. sorry. This is wishful thinking. If you eat like a pig you’re not going to lose weight no matter how much you exercise (unless maybe you’re an 18-year old marathon runner). You will only lose weight if your caloric intake is less than the amount of calories you burn off. Plus, you still need to make sure that you’re not pumping yourself up on sugars and carbs that cause you to store fat.

Myth #8: Being a Vegetarian Will Help You Lose Weight

I hate to burst so many bubbles, but this isn’t necessarily true. It all depends on what foods a vegetarian eats. Somebody who loads up on pizza and spaghetti dinners everyday ain’t gonna be losing much weight. Whether you are a vegetarian or not, you still need to have a balanced and reasonable diet, or else you’re going to look like that Stay Puft Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters.

Myth #9: Counting Calories Is Important

Think about it. The next time you see somebody that looks like you want to look, ask them if they keep track of how many calories they eat everyday. I would bet good money that they never count calories. Why? Because people that are physically fit start by leading a healthy lifestyle. Being healthy is part of their identity. Being healthy is who they are. If you need to ask yourself if a cheeseburger from Wendy’s is going to put you over your daily calorie limit, there is a good chance that you are probably not on the right track.

Myth #10: Exercise and a Healthy Diet Will Cause You To Lose Weight

Ok, this isn’t a complete myth. But it is only a partial truth. Of course exercise and eating healthy will cause you to lose weight. But that’s like saying that memorizing the dictionary will make you a good speller, or hitting the lottery will make you a millionaire.

The challenge isn’t knowing whether to exercise or eat healthy, it’s having the focus and right mental state to make you do what you need to do automatically, without thinking, without effort, and without feeling like you are sacrificing. Unless you transform your beliefs and conditioning, you will only see temporary, short-term results. This is why people do what is called “yo-yo” dieting (and no, this isn’t something from a rap song). This is when you get stuck going back and forth between short-term fixes and self-indulgence. No, in order to get healthy and stay healthy, the secret comes from changing your head first. Then your body will automatically change.
