i hav been doing curls, crunches, leg lifts and those exercises with my workout for like 3 months and when i do them i can clearly feel my six pack and see it bt when i stand up straight i have two rectangles where my abs are why isnt it the abs with ridges (six pack) instead its been like this for a month or two

Hi everyone,
My name Anthony. i came here to ask for a few tips and pointers maybe even some help in making a easy home routine ab workout.
I am 16, 170 Cm tall and weigh 65 kg. I’m not the biggest guy and i’m not the smallest guy im in between. If my shirt is off i have no gut because i’m a regular player of sports. I enjoy physical activities a lot and i am really good at them as welll.
According to alot of people i ask i have “definition” i don’t have a six pack of abs yet but you can faintly see the outlines.
Can anyone assist me in figuring out how i can make my abdominal more visible and bigger.
I don’t have access to a gym or dumbbells or anything i would just like to know some home workouts if you get me
.
And also i’m a healthy eater, i love salads and meat. But on the negative side i also love soft drinks and fast food, and because of my busy schedule i often to eat take out a lot.

Hi Anthony,
There’s a lot of at home exercises you can do that don’t require a gym.
Here’s a few:
Running
Any type of physical activity outdoors
Sit-ups
Pull-ups (if you can find a pull up bar, would work great)
Push-ups
Jumping Jacks
Squats
Thrusters/Dead lifts (If you get yourself a sand bag, this works really well)
With diet and exercise, your abdominal muscles will become more visible.
As for diet,
Lean meats, veggies, some fruit (1-2 servings a day, max), good fats/oils, nuts, seeds, little starch, and no added sugar. Have one open meal a week. Skip one meal a week if you’d like (that’s b-fest or lunch or dinner. Have dark chocolate (80% or more). Walk long distances. Perform your workouts like a lion is chasing you down. Rest often. Sleep as needed (nap!). Learn new sports. Always cultivate and cherish meaningful relationships. Take a look back and record monthly, in your journal, your accomplishments and celebrate – then move on.

If I were to do a simple abdominal workout at home and take a little bit of my protein shake, would that speed up the process of getting the define abs that I long for?? 10 points to the best answer.

No. “Simple” won’t cut it. Over the last year from about last August ’10-May ’11 I was seriously exercising and trying to eat “better” than normal. I did, in order:
Insanity
Hip Hop Abs
P90X
A P90X Hybrid
During this time I did protein shakes too but used protein weight gainer supplements which have far more protein and calories in them.
And stopped in May due to having to move and a few other factors. I never got a six pack but you could begin to see lines on the outside of my abs where “visible abs” were starting to form. Sadly those lines have disappeared since I haven’t kept it up over the last few months.
The point? Abs do not come overnight, or within a week. My best advice to you is to beef up your exercise hard and look for results in no less than six months from now.

I’ve seen people on the internet saying that planks are the most effective ab exercise, but I was wondering if they are powerful enough that you can get six pack abs with only planks and no other exercises?
I’ve been working on building my core for a couple months now, using workouts mostly from sixpackfactory.com, but I was wondering if I could get faster results/better definition from planks?

You have to add weight. If you keep the same weight, you wont get exercise from it! So put sand bags on top of your back and you’ll have the extra weight!

I’m trying to loose weight. I am 200 lb, about 6′ tall, 25 years old. I love to eat meat, cheese, BBQ, things like that. I went through a spurt in my life (when my girlfriend moved in with me), where we were in a blissful love. We were in perfect shape. We ate whatever we wanted – we had money – we didn’t exercise and just enjoyed ourselves. BAM! Wake up call. I gained 30 lbs!! Basically in 2 years. Now I am trying to loose it. I am disappointed in myself, and frustrated because losing it is harder than gaining it, lol.
I started the “P90X” program, and have noticed good muscle growth, but my life got busy and I started missing days – pretty disappointed in that. I’ve still been running, playing tennis, weight lifting and doing P90X exercise programs as often as possible.
At the same time – I need to change how I eat.
I’ve been making myself TONS of fresh fruit smoothies. Usually orange, bananas, grapes, grapefruit, carrots, sometimes low fat yogurt (not too much), water and ice (I know, same thing). Is this a good meal replacement? Instead of lunch, I eat drink a smoothie. Sometimes 2. Eeek, sometimes 3! I drink until I am filled. Sounds bad to me, but I used to eat chips, or pizza or something until I was filled, so this has got to be better right?
Any tips? I’ve found that these fruit smoothies are the only thing I actually enjoy as a replacement.
I can’t believe at 25, I am having these problems. I feel like it was last month that my stomach was flat. ![]()
By the way – these are homemade smoothies – not store bought. I know exactly what goes into them.

You and the rest of the world are having trouble with weight loss. Dont worry its extremly commen to hear about people wanting to lose weight, with all these fast-food joints and juck food its hard to say no. But some times you have to think about the future and what your going to look like and how your healths going to be in 10 years.
I cant really relate to you to much. Im a 16 year old that has been working out and lifting for three years now and living a really clean and healthy life for the past two years. I never was really fat but i kinda remeber my friends always making some jokes about my ” belly ” so I guess i kinda know how you feel, not saying people make jokes about you. ps.. i have a 6 pack now:)
I am actully a graduate of p90x and p90x+, totallying 6 months of bechbody. You might think im to intence for my own being or Im an animal but what i really do is keep my mind stright. Thats actuly my favourt saying. So what i mean is before you work out think of things you want, such as losing the 30 lbs or even maybe some day having a six pack or a flat toned belly or even imagine people saying ” wow, you look good, you lose weight? ” just things like that that help with the mind, the most important part of working out. So we talked about the mind lets talk about one of my other little trick/tips. Another one is get a work out with a partner, so you can get them to push you when your lacking off and you can also push them when there lacking off, plus i love showing off! So for your self and everyone around you just start the p90x video set, and push ur hardest because in 3 months you will get a high of self accomplishment, best feeling ever!!
So I have covered the training lets talk about your question about the smoothie. What you put in your smoothies makes me wanna go make one! Your smoothies sound Yummie with ingredients that will get you all your vitamins and minerals and more. Are they a meal replacement? To me it sure does becuase its just like eating fruit plain, just make sure your eating around every three hours of clean food so your body burns your calories to lose the weight and not trying to take the energy from the muscel because you dont have enough food, which isent good! You could also find a weight loss calculator that will help you lose weight and eat the right amount of calories (link at the bottom).
