how can i keep myself from being tempted to eat sweets on a diet?
I am on a low glycemic diet to loose weight fast and had to quit almost everything i liked eating cold turkey except for scrambled eggs and berries. And i feel as though I am going through WITHDRAWL!!! i craved Chocolate and cereals so bad that it was all i could think about. Any ways to stop these cravings/ temptations?

You can buy some bars called “Atkins Bars” they are really good. They cost a lot though… But try the “Caramel Nougat” it tastes like a Snickers
The cravings will go away after 2-3 days if you don’t cheat. I gave up sugar awhile ago and I had massive cravings for 2-3 days, then I didn’t crave sugar at all after that. What I did to get through the craving time was just eat lots and lots of healthy snacks. I also told myself that any foods not on my diet were “poison.” That seemed to work from a psychological standpoint.
That’s because you ARE going through withdrawal – sugar withdrawal. You’re body has been keeping higher levels of insulin because it was used to eating carbohydrates throughout the day. Now all that insulin is telling your brain it want’s more sugar.
When you cut carbs, you need to increase fat. That fat will fill you up, so you won’t be able to eat. Fat and protein release hormones like Leptin that tell your brain you’re full. Carbs don’t do that.
Eat bacon, fatty beef, fatty fish, cook your eggs in butter with avocado and cheese. Eating saturated fat is NOT bad for you. Humans have been doing it for millions of years and we’ve only started seeing high levels of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and heart disease in the last 30 years… right about the time the USDA told Americans to eat more carbohydrates like corn, wheat and other grains.
EDIT: Susan Yarra…
“The natural sugars in sweet fruit are not fattening.” That’s so incredibly false, it’s almost funny. The sugar in fruit is fructose, which like glucose can be stored in the liver until its needed and released. However unlike glucose, it can’t be stored in the muscles, so when you have enough glucose and fructose stored in the liver, your body converts the sugar in fruit to FAT. Too much fruit juice will do this way faster than too much fruit, but both have the same end result.
this probably isnt going to help seeings how your already on a diet, but im only 14 &
i used to LOVE sweets, chocolate all the time.. i became a vegetarian & after 3 months of it, youd think it was the opposite, but sweets are disgusting to me now, cant stand sweet food.
