How do you work out and exercise and not lose weight?
I would like to get into an exercise and workout routine but I am already very thin and don’t need to lose weight. If anything, I’d like to gain some. How do you find out the optimium caloric for what is spent working out and exercising so that you will not lose weight – but gain it?
Saucy – that’s a good answer so far. How do you calculate how many calories you burn a day just by being yourself?
Several people did not read the question. I DO NOT want to lose weight.

You need to calculate the calories you burn daily just being you, add on the ones you’ll burn working out, then eat more than that. I’d suggest maybe adding a protein shake or something else that your body can use better for gaining weight. You could also talk to a trainer or nutritionist.
There are lots of calorie burning calculators out there… so as long as you can find a good one, you should be able to figure out how much you need to eat.
Once you start working out, you’ll probably find that you’re more hungry, since your body will need extra energy. Since you don’t want to loose weight, eat (especially lean proteins).
There are plenty of websites that help you calculate the amount of calories you burn by figuring in your weight, age, daily activity etc. Dont worry about losing weight by execising. The best way to gain weight is by exercising. You will build muscle and as you probably already know, muscle weighs more than fat. So you will actually gain weight.(good weight) Just make sure you eat plenty of protein after your workout, and you will notice a big difference in your build. You may also want to look into creatine. Good luck
