workout advice please?
i want to work my biceps and my abdomen area over the next few months. would it be more affective to work my biceps one day then my abdomen the other day or should i do them both everyday?
basically is it better to give your muscles a day rest or should you keep at it every day?


It’s best to give your muscles a day of rest before working them out again. However, the abdominal muscles recover quickly and you can therefore work them out everyday.
Remember- when you are working out, you are not building muscle! You are tearing down the muscles and causing micro-trauma to them. When you are not working out is when you are actually building muscle. After your workout, the muscle recovers and builds itself up to adapt to the weight or stress that you put on it during your previous workout.
So if you work out your biceps everyday, therefore tearing it down everyday, you cannot recover and it is a waste of time because you are weakening the muscle, instead of strengthening it.
But as I had stated before, the abs recover quickly and you can work them out everyday (assuming that you are only doing body-weight exercises for the area such as crunches, sit-ups, etc). Stay away from using weights with the abs because like any other muscle, they adapt by getting bigger and may make you look fatter (they get bigger and bulge outwards).
