lay on your back and lift your legs slightly off the ground, hold and vary leg positions
Hanging leg lifts will also work…. bicycle kicks work as well
First off, you must eat healthy foods that will help you loose the little layer of fat in the abdominal area. Eat high protein, low-carb foods, such as lean meats, eggs, nuts, broccoli, whole wheat breads and pastas. This will help burn the layer of fat from the area.
Secondly, the best exercise to target that area is not sit-ups or crunches – these exercises will do more harm on your back than they’ll do good for your abs – instead do leg lifts to target the lower abs. Lay on your back with your hands under your bottom. Then lift your legs almost to 90-degrees and then bring them back down to about 5-6 inches off the floor – that’s one rep. Do about 3-4 sets of 15 reps a couple of times per week. It shouldn’t take more than a couple of weeks to see results IF you stick to the diet plan.
A workout doesn’t get anything to show, it’s a low bodyfat % that does. Try losing a little bit of weight, perhaps by carb cycling or a ketosis induced diet as both of these are known for helping retain muscle. I also want to point out that “spot reducing” is a complete myth. Working on a specific muscle will not make you lose fat in that region. If you work out your abdominals perfectly and eat like a pig you still are going to be fat and you still won’t be able to see your abdominal muscles regardless. However as far as workouts go, I would suggest big compound lifts like squats and deadlifts as both of those incorporate the core a significant amount.
Lower abs are the hardest ones to get to show. Proper diet and some techniques and exercises are the key. I have a free ebook and ab program at weighttrainingroutine.net/truthaboutabs
You’ll be on your way in no time.
Good luck!
