Upper body and lower body workouts?
Hi, i go to the gym 5 days week (Mon-Fri), and i was wondering if doing Upper Body 3 days a week and lower body 2 days a week, is a good way to burn fat and build muscle. On the Upper Body days i do a combination of triceps, shoulders, biceps, and back. Lower body days i do deadlifts, squats, hang cleans, lunges, ect. I jump rope in between sets, and also do different abdominal workouts at the end of each day, along with running 1.5 to 2 miles on the treadmill. So im just wondering if this is an effective way to build muscle and lose fat?
yea, i use EAS myoplex after each workout, and usually eat pretty good
so maybe turning one of the weight lifting days into a cardio day would help, and im trying to lose like 10-20 pounds in fat
in actuality i’m just trying to burn fat and bulk up at the same time because i’m training for football, but i’m just wondering if this workout plan will work for that

It depends on what you want to do. If you are trying to lose weight, then you may need to lighten up (no pun intended) on the weigh training. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. Also, you may want to go to going to the gym 3-4 times a week, if your body gets used to your routine, then its possible that you could experience a ‘plateau’ on the weight loss tip. But that is if you are trying to lose alot of fat. But remember also some weight training is needed to help you burn fat. As for myself, I work out at least 4 times a week and i do intense weight training on one of those days, and a mild weight training routine on another. On the other 2 days, i do cardio, running and walking. The cardio is what builds body mass… not just lifting weights alone. Also, continue eating good. Limit the fast food to once a week as a ‘reward’ for keeping a good routine, because your body does need fat to operate too, just not alot of it.
