Really terrible cramps after a hard workout?
I’m on my college rowing team, and occasionally after a really hard workout or a race, I get really bad cramps in my lower abdomen, to the point where I’m curled up in a ball on the ground whimpering, and these last for about 5-10 minutes, then they sort of go away and I’m fine. They feel sort of like really really terrible period cramps, but they’re not. These are sometimes accompanied by dizziness or puking, but I think those might just be a consequence of the hard workout and not related. This has happened to me like 4 times in the past year.

sounds like your really working out too hard..
Do you stretch before & after? This sounds really bizarre, never heard of anything like it.
Try stretching before and after..try going to a doctor maybe..
Aerobic exercises, especially those that involve bouncing, tend to overwork the large muscle in the calf. The cramping problem might be avoided if you varied your exercise routine to stress different muscle groups.
Always be sure to stretch your calves before and after exercising: Stand about two feet from a wall and place your hands against it. Bend one knee and move the other leg out behind you, keeping that heel on the floor. Lean forward until you feel the stretch in your calf. Hold that position for 30 seconds, then repeat with the opposite leg. You can also help prevent cramps by drinking plenty of water both before and during strenuous workouts. And good luck.
