menstrual cramps after exercise?
About six months ago, I re-started my exercise routine after slacking off for a couple of years after my daughter was born. I’ve noticed recently that every time I do an extra-long or extra-hard workout (usually running or elliptical) I get cramps in my lower abdomen, almost like strong menstrual cramps. They normally start soon after I stop exercising, and go away in 10-15 minutes, but it’s a seriously miserable experience until then. I guess I should mention that I’ve had a c-section, but it went very well and I had no complications, so I don’t think that’s the culprit. Any ideas what may cause this? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
Just realized it may also be relevant that I had terrible fibroids in college, which put me completely out of commission for 2-3 days a month. But again, that hasn’t given me a problem since my first child was born six years ago. Probably nothing to do with it, but I suppose it’s possible.

One culprit might be that you haven’t worked out for a long time. Your body isn’t used to the workout.
It might also be the fibroids. I would recommend not pushing your body so hard when you work out, and see if you have less pain once you stop exercising.
