A six-pack is built in the kitchen. It is the result of low body fat. However, don't starve yourself, otherwise you won't be able to build the muscle you need for football. You must eat smart. Fruit is ok. Good job on cutting out the (sugar) soda.

The best short article I've seen on eating is by a weightlifter:
http://www.dieselcrew.com/articles-pdf/summersixpack.pdf

Do exercises that are good for football, e.g. wind sprints, lifting weights, etc. That's enough work and will help you reduce bodyfat! Have fun, it's summer!

Long distance running, swimming won't do anything for your football and are not needed for weight loss. But if you like swimming, biking, go ahead!!

Strengthen your whole body for football. Real strength is overall strength. Plus, it will help protect you from injury.

Here is an example lifting program you can do 2 or 3 times a week:
. Squat or dead lift. Start light and increase the weight regularly as you are able. Keep your back flat.
. Bench press or inclined bench
. Pull-ups or cable pull-downs or bent rowing
. Overhead press
. Back extensions or leg curl
. Your favorite Ab exercise. Hold a weight to increase difficulty.

If the Ab exercises on the videos are hard to do, they are probably good. If they are easy and you can do many reps, then they won't develop much Ab strength.

I prefer doing sit-ups holding a heavy dumbbell. Gymnastics are a fun way to build Ab strength.

Run two or three times per week. For example:
Warm-up by walking and light jogging for 5 minutes. Run a few 40 yard wind sprints. Have someone time you. Then Sprint 100 yards, walk for a minute or two, just long enough to catch your breath so you can run fast again. Do five to ten times. Stretch after running.

Run in the morning. Lift weights in the afternoon. Three times per week, e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Another approach is to run on the days you don't lift:
Lift M, W, F,
Run T, Thur, Sat.

Getting a six pack isn't easy... it takes time... and some people who go after one.... well.... they never return. But, if you are willing to take the journey in search of a legendary SIX PACK ABS then I will show you the way....
Okay well first, you need to sacrifice a chipmonk to the mighty Carrot God, spill its blood over a carrot and say "OH MIGHTY CARROT GOD, COME TO MEEEE!!!". The carrot god will come and open a gateway to the center of the earth. Go in, and beg the giant lemon living in the center of the earth to help you get a mighty six pack.
If you beg pitifully enough, the lemon will feel sorry for you, and he will open a gateway to the Land of Abs. You must go into this gateway. You will enter a place in the Land of Abs called The Meadow of Happy, Happy Things. Here you must hug the smiling rainbows and kiss the pink unicorns. After this, go into the Forest of Joy and frolic with the Kittens of Love.
Once this is done, Gagerblups the Infant Lord will become angry, because you are happy in the Land of Abs. He will fly down riding a magical floating hippo wearing high heels and attack you with his peanut mallet. You must vanquish him and free the Land of Abs from his evil reign. If you survive, then the happy rainbows and the unicorns will rip your abdomen open and stuff gagerblups's six dead eyes into it. The eyes will bulge from your gut once it is sewn up, a mighty, bulging six pack.
By that point, you will be POOFED back to earth, where you will be the most popular boy in the world, and the fans will fling themselves upon you in everlasting joy......

At such a young age your body won't be properly developed yet and it's not really advisable to push it too much. If it's at all possible wait a bit before you start doing any serious weight training or anything.
