How long until i get a 6-pack with this routine, and is it a good one?
Im 19 years old and athletic but I could never get a 6-pack. I finally decided to put some effort and work on it. I have maybe a 4-pack but bottom abs are not coming yet. About how long would it take, heres what i do; Mon. Wed. Fri- 4 mile jog and ab workouts and pushups….Tue. Thurs. Sun. 1 mile jog and abs…. Im takin protein shakes and eating the best i can, i try to get steak everynight and lots of protein and few calories. Also play basketball a couple days a week. If i keep this up about how long would it take? should i change anything? thanks!!

Burning fat with cardio and ab workouts will help, but try to eat more chicken than steak will probably help as it’s a leaner protein.
Abs are better strengthened with full-body workouts, and “touched up” so to speak with ab specific workouts.
6-packs are 70% diet, 20% cardio or HIIT, and 10% core workouts.
The front abdominal muscle conditions like any other muscle. It requires resistance, and intense contractions to tone. If you want to “build”, it needs weight, like doing 20 crunches holding a heavy phonebook against your chest. But like I said above, full body training does that automatically. Body builders dont spend a whole lot of time on abs.
Think about it. If you flex your biceps 500 times… will they get any bigger? Nope. tired, but no bigger.
Also, like any other muscle, working it daily has negitive results. Muscles need rest. Intensive workouts to a single muscle group require 24 (min) to 48 hours to recover. Otherwise it’s like driving on a flat tire. You do more damage then gain in mileage.
diet diet diet. Your abs will not show unless you drop below 12% bodyfat (minimum).
I just go to 7-11 to get my six pack.
The jogging is good, but work in some high-intensity cardio to cut fat faster. This includes things like sprints, intervals, and uphill running. Incorporate them into the begging and end of your cardio to tone up much faster
