will a 1800 calorie diet work for me?
I weigh 297. I started out at 316 a few months ago. My dietitian said I should be eating 1800 calories. I am trying to lose weight and was eating 1200 calories and losing. I feel very deprived eating this amount though. I am worried I won’t lose on the 1800 a day. Does anyone have any experience in this?
and please no scam suggestions such as acai berry.


1800 is a lot. I do not think that you would lose weight eating 1800 calories, unless you were working out a LOT.
However, 1200 seems to be too little for you — you will not succeed on a diet if you feel deprived.
I’d suggest starting around 1500-1600 calories. You should not feel deprived at this level unless you are eating the wrong foods.
On the other hand, your dietician probably knows best. 1800 is a lot, but gradual weight loss is overall healthier than drastic deprivation.

the avg intake of calories should be around 1,500 to 2,000.
so that would be perfect, after doing this for a while, you will get use to it and then you can try lowering it down to 1200, dont starve yourself though!

1800 is much more suitable for you. 1200 is very low and most people shouldn’t eat that low. I’m 150 and my boyfriend predicted on days I work out eat 1800 and when I dont around 1600. You will need more though. Then when you lose weight you adjust it down. Because when your body is littler it needs less calories to run efficiently…
