South Beach diet…How does it work ?
I just signed up for the south Beach diet and I have no idea how it works….I am a busy student and I thought the south beach diet you buy there products and you have easy meals…My question is do you have to buy grocery and prepare them from scratch or can you go off a diet thats strictly easy meals like microwave meals, bars, and snacks from the south beach brand ?

The South Beach Diet is one of the more talked about low carb diet plans on the market especially now that many of their meals and snack foods can be found in the grocer’s freezer and on the shelves.
Please read about the South Beach Diet here:
I started the south beach diet a little over two weeks ago. It’s a great program, but you cannot eat the south beach prepared meals in the frozen section of your grocery store yet.
There are three phases to the diet.
Phase 1 (which you are in) lasts two weeks. You are to stay away from ALL fruits and ALL bad carbs. It’s a tough phase but once you get through it you’ll feel great! I bought that little booklet they have at the register of grocery stores, it’s the south beach quick start guide. It lists all the foods you can eat and those that you should stay away from. Basically, no fruit, no carbs, no sugar, no processed foods. So yes, you would need to cook your own food. I lost 10 lbs. in the first two weeks!
Phase 2 you get to add in fruit and some whole wheat starches. You should read more about it to see what you can and cannot eat. You stay on Phase 2 until you reach your goal weight.
Phase 3 is just about keeping the weight you lost off. You become more aware of what you’re eating and what is good and bad.
That’s a basic description of the South Beach diet, well as I understood it. You should at least read that little booklet I mentioned. The diet really works, but you do have to cook your own food. You can’t have the South Beach prepared frozen foods or snacks until Phase 2 and Phase 3.
Good luck!
