anorexia reco very diet question?
IM recovering from anorexia i already gained 15 pounds. Im on a 3500 calorie diet in the hostpital. I was wondering the doctor said when i go home i should maintain at least a 1800 calorie diet. But would that make me lose alittle weight because i will be droping like half the calories i was talking here. What is going to hapen

Just enjoy eating. Think about the wonderful tastes. Don’t sweat it.
Decreasing slowly, would help this problem.
Decrease little- by little every couple day’s, it should be fine.
Hope this help’s!
You might lose a few pounds but it won’t be rapid and they will be prepared for it. Although you might not lose much if anything, because your body is really using that fuel up right now trying to get you better. The best thing is to just follow what your doctors tell you. Good luck!
i think you should slowly decrease the amount of calorise you are burning each day
make sure to eat you VEGGIES!
ask the doctor?
but i think its coz 3500 calories is too much a day, I think guys have about 2500 a day, ur on that much to recover but to maintain he/she wants u on at lest 1800.
anyway ask the doctor….
Oh dude…your going to bloat up like a hippo.
you wont be gaining as much weight as in the hospital but you will still gain slowly but surely. With regular excercise, such as walking or yoga, you should gain about a pound or so per week i’d guess. goodluck girlie!
I think you will just balance out. Since you are in the hospital you’re obviously an emergency case, so you’re on a high calorie diet to get your weight up asap.
It is normal to lose a few pounds when you come out of hospital but as long as you stick to that 1800 you will be fine. You will only lose weight at the very beginning, then the new diet will still help you steadily gain weight, just not as rapidly as before. You can’t be expected to maintain a 3500 calorie diet obviously. It wouldn’t be good for your body or your mind to gain that quickly. I don’t think you’d be able to make peace with how fast your body would change and you would feel scared and out of control again.
Try to trust your doctor. I wish you all the luck in the world. You can do this!
you should seriously consider seeing a dietician once you leave the hospital… counting cals could put you back in the hospital. check out the American Diabetes Association diet. they have pamplets that tell you what cals = what food groups so you don’t count cals you count the number of servings of carbs, fats, fruits, protein, veggies.
it helped me… i mean, cal counting is how you got where you are now, right???
anyway, they have dramatically increased your cals in hospital to get you up to a healthy weight, or as close to it as possible and now they are telling you to “normalize” the number of cals you eat, so to speak.
GOOD LUCK! go to OA meetings when you get out, they could help you a lot. they are everywhere.
no, you’ll be able to maintain eating that much.
the 3500 diet is to gain a lb a day, 1800 is good for maintenance.
